GDC: Fez gameplay debut

GameVideos brings the goods once again today with the first footage of the innovative upcoming 2D/3D hybrid platformer, Fez. Using a rendering technique they call 'Trixels', explained here, the game turns the traditional 2D platformer on its head by introducing the ability for the player to view the environment from any angle, but only interact with it when the camera is viewing a specific direction. This allows the introduction of perspective-based puzzles (ala Echocrome).

An IGF finalist last year, according to 1Up the game has been generating a large amount of positive buzz at GDC 2008. Check it out in action below!
